Architect's NYC Apartment Transformation with Double Room Dividers

New York City architect Koray Duman from Studio Urnod completely renovated his own apartment and converted it from having two small bedrooms into one large open floor plan.  The new design for his 600 sq. ft. apartment allows the sun to enter the windows from the east, north and south with views of trees outside.   Duman decided to come up with a way to maintain the open feel of his space and add much needed storage and work space by using an innovative room divider concept featuring ISS Designs Modular Shelving. 

 

Duman designed his double ISS Designs Room Dividers to combine function with modern aesthetics.  The living room divider side includes a floating desk with base cabinets for files and storage.  The shelves allow the light to flow through the space while the upper cabinets provide hidden storage.   The bedroom divider includes cabinets with drawers, closed doors, shelves and hang bars.  The completed installation shows Duman's vision of creating back to back room dividers to transform his NYC apartment.
